Gilda Mullette began her illustrious and diverse career in dancing and acting as a teenager, earning a scholarship to the American Ballet Theater. Upon graduation, Mullette continued her training at the prestigious Juilliard School and the New York City Ballet. Traveling overseas, Gilda Mullette then trained at the Royal Ballet in London. She performed at the Paris Opera as well as venues across the world, including South America, Russia, and Eastern Europe. Over her career, beside her multiple on and off Broadway venues, notable performance settings included the White House and starring in a command performance for the Shah of Iran.
Apart from her classical dance training and performing, Gilda Mullette is an accomplished actress and studied acting under famed actors Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, and Sanford Meisner. Mullette was also approached by famed composer Richard Rogers and famed choreographer Anges de Mille to act and dance in the revivals of Carousel and Oklahoma at Lincoln Center in New York City. Over her career, Gilda Mullette has also worked in classical theater with world-class talents such as Anthony Tudor, Eric Bruhn, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, and Alvin Ailey, among others.
Over her career, Gilda Mullette has also offered her expertise in the performance arts as a teacher and mentor. She has taught ballet, jazz, performance techniques, acting, and choreography in colleges, high schools and private studios in New York City and Los Angeles. Mullette is also a member of multiple professional organizations, including Actors Equity, Screen Actors Guild, American Guild of Musical Artists, and American Guild of Variety Artists.
Outside of the performance arts, Mullette is an avid gardener and thoroughly enjoys cooking, especially vegetarian fare. She enjoys preparing classic French and Italian cuisine as well as traditional Indian and Thai. Gilda Mullette is also a skydiving enthusiast and has jumped over 50 times in her lifetime.
