Garnering accolades throughout his more than thirty-year career, David Herzog, MD, served as the first Harvard Medical School Endowed Professor of Psychiatry in the field of Eating Disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Additionally, Dr. Herzog founded the Harris Center for Education and Advocacy in Eating Disorders at Massachusetts General. An avid researcher, Dr. David Herzog worked for more than two decades as Principal Investigator of the National Institutes of Mental Health-funded longitudinal study of eating disorders.
David Herzog, MD, has been selected as a Top Ten Doctor specializing in Child Psychiatry in East Cambridge by Vitals.com. In 2005, the Eating Disorders Coalition for Research, Policy & Action selected the physician as the recipient of its Award for Visionary Leadership. The same year, David Herzog accepted the award for Excellence in Advocacy from the Academy for Eating Disorders. Named a Top Doctor for ten years by Boston Magazine, in 2012 he was recognized by the publication as one of Twelve Bostonians Changing the World. Dr. Herzog has written three books and published nearly three hundred peer-reviewed publications.
