Now the Executive Manager of CASI Global Investments Corporation in the United Arab Emirates, Janet Ibru began her education at Roedean, an independent boarding and day school for girls in the United Kingdom, where she studied French and Spanish and took part in athletics, choir, and drama. After passing her A-level examinations, Ms. Ibru matriculated at King’s College London, where she participated in the school’s Afro-Caribbean Society before receiving her Bachelor of Arts with honours in French and Management Studies. Later, Janet Ibru completed her formal education with a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Marketing from the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C.
Anticipating her graduate studies at American University, Janet Ibru worked in financial affairs and commercial marketing for Price Waterhouse and Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Limited, both in Lagos. She subsequently accepted a position as a Management Information Systems Consultant with Dulles, Virginia-based Gemini Air Cargo, where she oversaw the development of a new automated flight data entry configuration.
After receiving her MBA, but before transitioning to her current position, Janet Ibru served for a year as the Business Operations Director for The Urban Passage, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Northern Virginia committed to improving the lives of incarcerated young people via Bible-based mentoring, life skills education, and assistance with their reassimilation into the community. Janet Ibru maintains this focus on community improvement by serving as a volunteer with churches and other Christian organizations in the U.S., and as a Board Trustee with the Michael and Cecilia Foundation and MCIU University in Nigeria.
