Award-winning Seattle-based sports anchor Erin Hawksworth is one of the most popular faces on local station Q13 FOX. Among her assignments in her current market are her regular Gameday reports on the National Football League’s Seahawks and the Mariners American League baseball franchise. She has also covered college sports, including the 2011 Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, played between the University of Washington Huskies and the Baylor University Bears. During her previous work in the Grand Junction, Colorado, market, Erin Hawksworth earned an award from the Colorado Broadcasters Association for Best News Series.

Erin Hawksworth studied at American University in Washington, D.C.; she also graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. During her college years, she served an intense internship with Dateline NBC, assisting in coverage of the 2002 sniper attacks in the nation’s capital. She worked behind the scenes and on-air in a series of increasingly high-profile positions, among them an internship with Phoenix area KPNX-TV and a job as Production Assistant with NBC Sports. Her storied career has encompassed Colorado’s KJCT-TV, WFAA-TV in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, and Fox 25 Boston. Additionally, Erin Hawksworth assisted the broadcast crew assigned to cover the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, and conducted interviews with players representing the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Texas Rangers.

Vancouver native Erin Hawksworth cherishes her family’s Cree Nation heritage. She has spent much of her life in Washington State; she spent her childhood in a sports-loving home. Her brother Blake pitches for the Los Angeles Dodgers and their father works as a high school baseball coach.

Among her charitable endeavors, Erin Hawksworth has established a nonprofit website in memory of her grandfather, Jack Poole, who chaired the committee responsible for coordinating the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. Contributions benefit the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
