A sales leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Andres Otaño has built a substantial list of development and revenue growth achievements. Recently hired by health care company Novo Nordisk as its Business Manager, Andres Otaño accepts his role following a successful tenure with Takeda Pharmaceuticals and previously with the well-known Pfizer. In his combined total of 20 years in both positions, Andres Otaño accumulated numerous sales and business development accomplishments on the national and regional levels.
Affecting change in both field offices and at the world headquarters, Andres Otaño came to be known for his revenue-building skill. For 28 consecutive months, he served as manager of a four-product portfolio in which each product received top national ranking. During his time with Takeda, Andres Otaño led two low-performing regions to the top 30% of the company's ranking, while leading his own region to recognition as the most improved in the nation. He achieved consistent success in his previous role with Pfizer as well, consistently achieving ranking in the top 15 percent among directors and regional managers. In his most recent role with the company, he created the region of Neuroscience Texas, developing a sales plan that led the region to top standing in the nation for four consecutive years.
Prior to his work in the pharmaceutical industry, Andres Otaño served with the United States Navy, with extensive work in intelligence. He earned a number of medals for this service, including the Joint Commendation Medal, the Overseas Deployment Medal, and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1980 with his degree in Engineering and International Security Affairs. He also attended the Defense Intelligence School in Washington, D.C. His military leadership experience continues to serve him in his corporate leadership capacity.
