Recognized for his leadership, Jeffery Leving is a prominent family law attorney with 30 years of experience in the fields of child custody, divorce, fathers’ rights, and paternity law. Since 1986, he has directed the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd., a Chicago-based firm of family lawyers dedicated to child custody, divorce, family law, and fathers’ rights. In his practice, Leving prioritizes client interests, consistently delivering professional, high-quality services. In conjunction with his legal work, he serves as both Chairman of the Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood and President Emeritus of the Fatherhood Educational Institute.
Widely acknowledged for his professional contributions, Jeffery Leving was recently awarded the Protection of the Family Award from the Illinois State Crime Commission. In 2006, six-term Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and the Chicago City Council lauded the attorney by enacting an ordinance that renamed the corner of LaSalle and Madison Streets “Honorary Jeffery M. Leving Way.” Leving is also the recipient of the President of the United States Service Award, the nation’s premier honor for volunteers.
A longstanding member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Jeffery Leving also belongs to the bar associations of DuPage, Kane, LaSalle, and McHenry Counties. Certified to practice before the United States Supreme Court, he earned his Juris Doctor from the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1979. In 1998, he authored his first book entitled Fathers’ Rights: Hard-Hitting & Fair Advice for Every Father Involved in a Custody Dispute. In 2007, Leving’s second book, Divorce Wars: A Field Guide to the Winning Tactics, Preemptive Strikes, and Top Maneuvers When Divorce Gets Ugly, was released by HarperCollins Publishers, Inc.
