A lawyer with over a decade of experience working at institutions of higher education, Imogene Cathey is currently the General Counsel at Seton Hill University. Previously, Imogene Cathey was an Assistant General Counsel at the University of Florida. In addition, she served in various capacities, including General Counsel, with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
After graduating summa cum laude from Florida A&M University in 1996 with a major in political science and a minor in secondary education, Imogene Cathey went on to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She graduated with honors in 1999. Following a role with Trenam, Kemker, Scharf, Barkin, Frye, O’Neill & Mullis, P.A., she worked at Shook, Hardy, & Bacon, L.L.P.
Beyond her work, Cathey has been involved in the community as a tutor with the PASSAGE Family Church after-school tutoring program. She was also active with the Josiah T. Walls Bar Association where she participated in the Reichert House Law Day program as a speaker. In these roles, she has provided guidance and academic support to children who are underprivileged. She has also helped them to think about and plan for their future.
Cathey is licensed to practice law in Florida, the District of Columbia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
