CEO and vascular surgeon at Western Vascular Institute, PLLC, in Arizona, Mitar Vranic, DO, possesses more than 20 years of surgical experience. A graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Services, he completed his internship and residency at Ohio University’s Doctors Hospital, focusing his postdoctoral training on general surgery. He then split his fellowship training on peripheral vascular surgery at Ohio University, Doctors Hospital and on vascular endovascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Mitar Vranic stayed on as a vascular surgeon at the Arizona Heart Institute for four years. During this time, he developed several new medical devices and surgical techniques that are still used today.
After leaving the Arizona Heart Institute, Dr. Mitar Vranic spent a couple of years working as a vascular surgeon at Cardiovascular Associates of Mesa before founding Western Vascular Institute and assuming his current position. Maintaining a reputation for using leading technology and aggressively treating vascular disease, Dr. Vranic guided his practice to success, helping it become one of the largest vascular centers in the state. His expertise in the field has earned him several awards and honors, including being recognized as a Phoenix Top Doc for several consecutive years.
