As an Electronic Warfare and Information Operations Division Officer for the U.S. Navy’s Tenth Fleet, former Florida resident Christopher Tynes brings more than two decades of military service to his role, along with a diversified record in strategic leadership. Part of Fleet Cyber Command since 2012, Christopher Tynes also flies Boeing 737s as a First Officer with AirTran Airways while working toward a Master’s degree in International Public Policy at Johns Hopkins University. In his free time, Mr. Tynes enjoys hiking and camping in the wilderness, playing softball and football, reading, and volunteering as a tutor.
Christopher Tynes assumed his present duties in the Tenth Fleet following successful terms as Deputy Head of the Innovations Branch of the Navy Irregular Warfare Office, Intelligence and Security Department Head of the Second Fleet’s Expanded Missions Unit, and Air Operations coordinator in the Office of Defense Cooperation in Turkey, among other roles. In the private sector, he has flown with Vision Airlines, Eos Airlines, North American Airlines, and US Airways. A recent graduate of the Joint Air Operations Command and Control Course at Hurlburt Field in Florida, he also completed Strike Lead Attack Ground School, Naval Aviation Flight School and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University.
